Best Bites of 2024

Food is my love language. Sharing the best bites of St. Louis is one of my favorite things to do. You all LOVED this video on Instagram and TikTok but I got a few questions on what exactly to order at each of these restaurants, so let’s dive into the details of these delicious bites.

  • Spicy Chicken Sandwich at Side Project: This popular Maplewood brewery added food last year and the sandwich is massive, spicy and a must order.

  • Grilled Chicken Salad at J’s Pitaria: I’d drive to South County every week just to eat at this mediteranian restaurant. Every thing on the menu is delicious, but this salad is perfect.

  • Garlic Knots at Pie Guy: If you are looking for big pizzas or even just a slice you have to stop by this spot in The Grove neighborhood. Don’t skip the garlic knots.

  • Biscuit Sandwich at Faye: This spot is pretty far outside of St. Louis but it needed to be included. This brunch spot in Murphysboro IL is worth the drive.

  • Bagel and Lox at Clover and the Bee: Speaking of brunch, this Webster Groves restaurant is one of my favs. The cucumber salad that comes with this dish makes it the perfect breakfast.

  • Thai BBQ Salad at Neon Greens: This new salad spot in The Grove is bringing fantastic salads to St. Louis. This was a special but was so popular theydecided to permenatly add it to the menu.

  • EVERYTHING at Louie: Truly. It’s one of St. Louis’ best restaurants and my number one recommendation for anyone looking for a fantastic meal. The pizza. The pasta. The chicken. Everything is amazing, especially the service.

  • Chocolate Croissant at Comet Coffee: Not only do they have some of the best coffee but the croissants rival those in Paris. Just order one.

  • Bread and Butter at Esca: The rest of the food was delicious as well at Ben Poremba’s new spot on Delmar but the bread and butter, which is often a throw away, is what stuck with me. It was so yummy.

  • Cilbir at Telva: I called this Shakshuka in my video, but its actually called Cilbir, or Turkish eggs. Its poached eggs in a creamy yogurt base and absolutely delicious. Telva in Webster Groves is a must visit cafe.

  • Tidbits at Mainlander: Mainlander is the kind of restaurant where the menu changes every month so I’m sorry that you will likely never get to try this little tray of tidbits or small bites that started our meal. The Central West End supper club style restaurant is fun, unique and a must add spot to your restaurant list.

  • Lobster Roll at Peacemaker: One of my favorite spots to open in 2024 was Peacemaker and 4 Hands in Kirkwood. The outdoor space is so perfect for families and as a long time fan of their food, the lobster roll on the patio was easily on my top bites list.

  • Donuts at Damn Fine Hands Pies: Another new spot in 2024, Damn Fine Hand Pies in Shaw is a dream. You might know them from the Tower Grove Farmers Market, but the opening of their brick and mortar allowed them to expand their offerings which include delicious pastries and sandwiches.

  • Poke Bowl at Buzz’s Hawaiian: If I can’t go to Hawaii, at least I can go to Buzz’s in Tower Grove East.

  • Risotto Balls at Porano: One of the best comebacks of 2024. Porano returned after a 5 year hiatus. Now located in Des Peres, the fast casual pasta and pizza spot is perfect for families and the risotto balls are so good you should get two orders so no one is fighting over them.

  • Angry Bird at Vivola Express: This hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop in Maryland Heights has a cult following and for good reason. The sandwiches are amazing. I am obsessed with the Angry Bird which features two types of turkey and dynamite sauce.

  • Tacos from Malinche: I’ve had the tacos at Malinche in Ellisville and that’s definitely a spot to make a reservation, or you can grab them at City Park Stadium at the next City SC game!

  • Avocado Toast at Florentine: Another new spot by Ben Poremba on Delmar and a fantastic addition to the area for delicious brunch food and coffee.

  • Churros at Idol Wolf: Anytime people talk about churros I don’t get the hype. That is until I tried the churros at Idol Wolf inside the 21C hotel in Downtown St. Louis. Light but crunchy, and the most decadant chocolate sauce.

  • Omakase Dinner at Pavilion: The most incredible food and most incredible dining experience I’ve had in years. Nick Bognar’s new Omakase at Pavilion, (located behind Sado, on The Hill) is worth every penny. It’s a lot of pennies, but save them up because this was a mindblowingly delicious meal.
